My husband and I had enrolled our son in a Montessori School at the age of 18 months. We were told that the Montessori program was excellent but little did we know that all Montessori Schools were NOT the same. We were not happy with the Montessori school he was attending so we carefully started interviewing multiple Montessori School Directors to find the best one in the Carrollton, Plano, and Frisco area. At the time we lived in Carrollton and did not mind commuting to Plano or Frisco if we found the right school for our son. After carefully interviewing multiple schools, our last stop was the Alpha Montessori in Plano. We met with Mrs. Rupali, the director and owner of the school. My husband and I were immediately impressed. She took us on a tour; we discussed the truly impressive curriculum. . She performed an evaluation on our son to see where he was in terms of development. The staff was fantastic and friendly. I loved that Mrs. Rupali (owner and director) did not have an office at the school. This is intentional as she does not care to sit behind a desk. She wants to be involved in every single area and program of the school. We had such a GREAT feeling about the school that we signed up our son immediately. It is now a year later since we enrolled our son and my husband and I are just as excited about the school as we were a year ago. The staff is still fantastic! My son's confidence level is sky high. He LOVES walking in every single day. As a matter of fact, he walks in and never looks back. It is such a great feeling to know that he is genuinely happy there. His grammar and speech have dramatically improved. His manners are just amazing. He has become so independent and his personality just shines. His teachers have spent individual time with him to "catch him up". What a phenomenal job they have done! He now corrects our grammar which we find extremely funny! We knew that we were NOT happy with his progress at his old Montessori school (thank God, that school is now closed), but this only confirms that just because they have the Montessori "name" doesn't mean it is the right school for your child. Mrs. Rupali has a background in the Montessori program as well as child development. You have to know the owner and director's background as well their interest in your child's development. This is the right school for our son! We love it and wished we would have found this place when he was 18 months old. Better late than never! He is doing wonderful and that makes us happy as parents. I would recommend this school to anyone.

Toddler Class (18 months – 3 years)

Our bright and sunny toddler classrooms are beautiful environments designed for children ages 18 to 36 months; a world scaled down to a child’s size. Tiny tables and chairs, low hooks for jackets and very small toilets will foster independence and self-sufficiency. Here your child will paint, cook, water the garden, sweep with miniature brooms, wash dishes and play with materials that develop fine and gross motor coordination.

Practical life skills, including toileting, will be learned in a peaceful, home-like setting. A teacher will guide children through the Montessori toddler curriculum where their motor coordination, independence, and language are cultivated. In this respectful and nurturing environment, the very young child will experience his first exploration into the world. Each choice, every movement, will build on itself.

Language development is an important area of growth for toddlers who change daily in their ability to express themselves and comprehend what they hear. Much of the work of the classroom will enhance this emerging skill through daily living, language cards and realistic objects, songs and stories. Every day will be exciting and new to a toddler at Alpha Montessori.

School is a joyful place for toddlers. This prepared environment will offer your child an incredible opportunity to explore his or her world under the guidance of highly trained teachers. She or he will emerge as a confident, independent community member ready to move on to the next stage of his or her journey – the Preschool classroom for 3 to 6 year old children.
